Paint Dude - Free Cutter File for Renovating and Home Improvement

While the weather is cooperating, we have a deck to stain! We haven't actually gotten started because it's been TOO hot and we haven't quite figured out how to keep the dog off the surface yet... but I like to be prepared. Whether you're renovating or moving, performing a little home-improvement, sorting BEFORE and AFTER pictures of a painted transformation, or just ready for a change of color...if you have a reason to keep a grinning character with a paint brush hanging around, this file is for you!
Formats include AI, KNK, GSD, SVG (for Cricut with SCAL/ Sure Cuts a Lot), EPS and BMP.
Download the Paint Dude free cutter file here.

The layout I created with this character also features a step ladder, drippy paint overlay in the background and a "wet paint" title...as well as Jolee's accent stickers for the brushes and paint can. If the finished example appeals, the additional files are available for purchase separately at Scrapbookcircus. Happy Friday!~

Beach Pail and Shovel Free Cutter File

It's almost the end of June, school will be out in mere days, the sun is shining and I'm ready to pack one of these and head for a beach!---->
(The peanut gallery behind me has added: Yeah, That's what I'm talkin' about!)
Right, they agree! Even the silly dog "digs" it. (He does NOT yet comprehend that he's not allowed on public beaches...THANK HEAVEN! Even though he is an extremely sanitary shade of white, the canine excavator smelled a lot like the dead crab carcass he found last time we took him to a beach, and he's a conscienceless face-licker. YUCK! I'm also sure that if we let him continue digging, he'd be somewhere near the center of the earth by now. The last thing I want to reinforce with this animal is the concept of digging holes.)
SO! Don't forget the sunscreen...Get your digging tools here and get started:
Download the Beach Pail and Shovel Cutter File free with any purchase

The zip contains an AI8 file (WPC users can choose IMPORT from the file menu, ungroup and have a ready-to-cut image), KNK, SVG (separated by color for SCAL users), GSD (for Graphtec cutters like Wishblade, Silhouette, Craft Robo, etc), and EPS.
Before I forget...the BOGO sale on cutter files has ended at http://www.thatsscrapinc.com. If you purchased files during the sale, you have until the end of the month to claim your free files of equal or lesser value from each respective designer. Thanks for celebrating the one-year anniversary with us!

Buy One Get One Free Cutter Files at Thats Scrap Inc.

The buy one get one (BOGO for text fingers!) free cutter file sale at That's Scrap Inc runs from June 6th-16th, which means there are 4 days left to loot!

I'm still trying to finish a few more files before the sale ends, but my most recent project was a resurrected layout featuring "Beach Babes". It landed in time to enjoy the sunshine and a new pool that I dragged home and filled with water and chlorine last week: It's been BLAZING hot here, and although I don't have a palm tree to lounge under...the climbing rose and a Hawthorn tree have been great substitutes!

If you're interested in the BOGO sale, for every cutter file purchased from ONE designer, you can receive a second file of equal or lesser value free from the SAME designer. Just email your invoice to the participating design team member and let them know which file(s) you'd like to receive free, and they'll be emailed to you. (There's a direct link to each designer's mailbox at the top of their files section. You can find my cutting files lurking under the ID "Scrapbookcircus" at That's Scrap Inc.)

Buy-One-Get-One Free files are NOT be interchangeable between designers---if you purchase one file each from three different designers, you'll need to forward your purchase receipt to three separate designers to request a free file of equal or lesser value from each designer.

A lack of posts here usually means that I'm playing with files instead, so if you keep an eye on the files area...I'm hoping to beat the deadline on the 16th and have another file or two lurking. *grin*
Happy shopping!

Have a Hoot!

My accountant collects owls, and this little guy struck me as the perfect companion to take with me tomorrow when I pick up the income tax file. One of my creative peers (Ducky!) has also been designing letters of the alphabet and it occurred to me that her current letter H would be a fun match to cards and owl-flavored projects, too. The "Happy Birthday" banner which appears on her letter H (seen here: http://www.duckysdesigns.com/knk.html )could easily be paired with this little guy---I'm sure someone else will be able to use him, so have a HOOT and go play with paper!
Zip contains GSD, KNK, SVG (for cricut users with SCAL), BMP, EPS and AI (for WPC users: just choose IMPORT from the file menu and the AI version is ready to cut).

Free Owl file

I used this little owl in one of the knotholes on the tree bark overlay I created here, and filled the remaining knotholes with photos. If the same project appeals, you can find the tree bark overlay available for purchase separately at http://www.scrapbookcircus.com. You'll need a cutter which can cut at least 12" wide and a good sticky mat in order to cut this file. The overlay is all one piece, so it's not nearly as much work as it looks. Between the owl and bark...I spent a whole 10 minutes finishing the page....which is rare for me. I could definitely get used to it, though!

Where on earth did THIS come from?!

This strange-looking hat just landed here. We're supposed to get snow later tonight, so maybe you can find a place to put this thing until I have time to frisk in a snowbank and build another snow dude to wear it again. The thrill of frozen pipes, shoveling the driveway and scraping windshields will be difficult to pass up, but I'm sure I can find time to roll a large ball of ice across the lawn so the dog will have another snowman to bark at. In the meantime...I've been accused of hiding files a bit TOO securely, so I'm going to make it easy this time. All you have to do is FIND THE FREE FILE!!

I suppose you'd like to know what you're looking for, eh? Well...here's the thing. If I tell you, it won't be a surprise!!

If the effort is more like work than fun, I'm going to let you in on a little SECRET: I had fun hiding the file, and it could be hiding in several different places. On this page. And I REALLY hope you have as much fun looking for it as I had hiding it. *grin*
Well, okay. I didn't want to make it TOO annoying. If you're extremely resourceful...some of the posts in the comment area may be of interest. There's actually more than one file hidden here. *grin* Just in case you're as obsessive as I am.

The bi-annual sale of the year of the year has begun! Cutter files are 30% off at http://www.thatsscrapinc.com. I just uploaded 15 more files...and I made quite a few of them with holiday gift projects in mind. The rest of the file designers at the store have been busy, too! If you wish to take advantage of the sale, the discount code is valid from November 27th to November 30th 2008, and you can enter this code in Checkout:

Turkey Day in the US sounds a lot like the Canadian version of Boxing Day, which falls a day after Christmas. I have theorized before that they might have named the Canadian date descriptively for competitive behavior standing in line-ups outside stores, but now I'm wondering... Why is it called Black Friday in the US? It may be a dark day in history for turkeys...but I really like the idea of being able to get a better deal and a foot up on Christmas shopping BEFORE Christmas. The seasonal leftovers of most Canadian household budgets usually haven't rebounded from Christmas in order to truly take advantage of Boxing Day sales, so the arrangement across the border seems like much better retail planning. On the bright side...lurking indoors with leftover turkey instead of standing in a lineup isn't exactly a hardship: shopping online is something we can do any time, and no one will tell you to drop the drumstick while wandering through the store. *grin*
Happy Thanksgiving!
