Talking to myself again...?!

I have to confess that this isn't much of a blog: I don't write as often as I'd like. I have so little time to write and I tend to prioritize everything...and quite frankly, there's a great deal on my list that comes before talking to myself! Unless you somehow stumbled across the link and arrived expecting to find something interesting, or received a radio signal through the fillings in your teeth...this little virtual environment is probably a bit like a window that someone might glance into while passing through.

So! What would you see?

Well...TODAY you'd see something that hasn't been lurking for awhile....NEW LINKS!!
Yes, I've updated all of the download links, and added something new for amusement. The Scrapbookcircus file collection has a new home online, new files coming, new pages...and if you don't own the equipment to create these things and don't want to be limited to a system that restricts creativity to cartridges... you can find an electronic Die Cutter to suit any budget just in time for Christmas at That's Scrap Inc. Please tell Sherri that the Circus elf said 'hello'. :)

If you're looking for any of my Print and Cut projects...this collection is now available EXCLUSIVELY at All That Jazz Supplies. Tyler and his wonderful wife have been repackaging these to cut perfectly from any machine which utilizes a laser eye...and they've included the registration settings to make it simple, too!

The Power of ONE.

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring
One smile begins a friendship
One handclasp lifts a soul
One star can guide a ship at sea
One word can frame the goal
One vote can change a nation
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness
One laugh will conquer gloom
One step must start each journey
One word must start each prayer
One hope will raise our spirits
One touch can show you care
One voice can speak with wisdom
One heart can know what's true
One life can make the difference
You see, IT'S UP TO YOU!!

OK, it’s been a while since I posted here. If I’ve been reticent over the last year or so, it’s because acknowledgment could have little bearing on what you found here. That is going to change. There is a commonly held perception that ONE is less than two in relationships. For me, it’s meant something else entirely; the definition can be found standing among the words in the poem above.
Creative expression in this medium has introduced new challenges, because time is a resource -- I have a career, my son, the same responsibilities as two. What it demands now is discipline. The funny thing about this quality is that it’s something I can draw upon…just like paper… and I’m looking forward to picking up my pencil again. But first...I work today.

Goosebumps! [Ntitled commercial die cutting files collection]

One of the files I contributed to October's Ntitled commercial file membership at That's Scrap Inc was really fun to scrap with photos of my son in costume this Halloween. When I scrapped this, I added three additional critters to the page, so the additional geese will be joining the flock. The title cuts in three big pieces----one purple, one black, and one orange layer ...with a few extra orange and white parts for the critters, so it isn't a lot of work to assemble.
I used pencils, crystal lacquer and stickles on the lettering to give it depth, and filled each of the "bumps" with a bit of lacquer to make them look glossy. I love the way this page looks! The spider and web are part of the Halloween file I created last year.

Ellen (Ducky's Designs) also has a bonus file to accompany November's Ntitled file collection. The current month features files for Thanksgiving, turkey, wall sentiments, cards, Christmas, holidays at the cabin, birthdays and kids! Please drop by and leave us a note!

Tribute Album Cutter Files for Cancer, Available in AI, KNK, GSD, SVG, EPS and BMP

The Honest Truth -- Unique Tribute Album for Cancer Patient
Available in AI, KNK, GSD, EPS, SVG and 300dpi Bitmap
(C) designed by Scrapbookcircus

Did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month? This album was an incredible challenge to create...my intent several years ago was to design something to acknowledge this theme from as positive a perspective as possible...and even convey a little humor. While I realize that this is a serious subject, I approached this project keeping these thoughts in mind: A small amount of laughter can take the sting out of the worst situation, and science has proven that a patient with a positive attitude has a better chance of surviving Cancer than one who focuses on fear and despair. If I had to walk this path myself, this is exactly what I would have created to mark my journey.

I created this book by specific request and it has been a few years since I made the original, and recently recreated the design in AI, EPS, KNK, GSD and SVG formats so that it could be cut using a digital die cutter. If you would like to know more about acquiring the file or what's included, please visit That's Scrap Inc to read more about our fundraising effort or donate $25 or more directly to the Susan G Komen Foundation. Email or screenshot proof of your contribution (NO financial details included) to myself or the store and a download link will be emailed to you.

Free Military, Patriotic Cutter File in AI, KNK, GSD, EPS, SVG

Things have been a little hectic around here. I've been preparing classes that I'll be instructing at a fundraiser retreat to support Breast Cancer Awareness at the end of October, working (2 jobs--still not sure how that happened!), and trying to stay awake long enough to finish files that I intended to have uploaded a month ago. Before the rest of my marbles roll away today, I figured that I'd better get this guy posted. It's hard to resist a man in uniform, isn't it?

Download the Military dude here.

You can find the flag, an eagle, frames and several additional files which complement this theme at http://www.scrapbookcircus.com if you're in the mood to play with paper.

Free Nurse cutter file in AI, GSD, KNK, EPS, SVG for SCAL (paper piecing)

The design team at That's Scrap Inc have been collaborating to create a monthly membership of files which feature 20 or more files in AI, GSD, KNK, EPS, and SVG formats. The files in the N'titled Membership carry a license for commercial use, but I've been having a bit of fun combining projects. The scan (left) and files linked below are one of several examples I have to share this week. This layout was inspired by photos shared by a friend---her son wore a cast throughout the summer, but the injury didn't keep him out of the swimming pool! His ingenious Mom invested in one of these SUPER cool waterproof sleeves and saved summer! *grin* (Who even knew these things exist?! What a brilliant idea!!)

The example page above features 3 separate files: The "Indestructible" title and medical elements are part of August's file collection which is available for sale at http://www.Scrapbookcircus.com. The "Stitched" or "Laced" background (left) is a separate file which I've used on several occasions for sports pages, Halloween, vintage and general subjects. (It's been surprisingly versatile. LOL!) The enthusiastic Nurse character (shown right) is available for free download separately. The file is provided in AI, GSD, KNK, EPS, and SVG for SCAL formats, as well as a bitmap for digital users or assembly reference.

Paint Dude - Free Cutter File for Renovating and Home Improvement

While the weather is cooperating, we have a deck to stain! We haven't actually gotten started because it's been TOO hot and we haven't quite figured out how to keep the dog off the surface yet... but I like to be prepared. Whether you're renovating or moving, performing a little home-improvement, sorting BEFORE and AFTER pictures of a painted transformation, or just ready for a change of color...if you have a reason to keep a grinning character with a paint brush hanging around, this file is for you!
Formats include AI, KNK, GSD, SVG (for Cricut with SCAL/ Sure Cuts a Lot), EPS and BMP.
Download the Paint Dude free cutter file here.

The layout I created with this character also features a step ladder, drippy paint overlay in the background and a "wet paint" title...as well as Jolee's accent stickers for the brushes and paint can. If the finished example appeals, the additional files are available for purchase separately at Scrapbookcircus. Happy Friday!~
